APT WGLC / CHSA SYMPOSIUM, SCHOOL OF THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO / MAY 2019

This collaborative symposium, Preservation of Industrial Archaeology and its Construction History, offered a single track, intermingling the two disciplines of preservation technology and construction history, while exploring topics that included local and regional structures and industries.  Thomas Leslie, Iowa State University, delivered the keynote Chicago's Other Skyscrapers at the School of the Art Institute's Ballroom.  Sponsors

6th BIENNIAL MEETING, UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, MAY 2018

The 6th Biennial featured research and scholarship focusing on the history of building design, fabrication and construction throughout the Americas with keynotes by Carl Lounsbury, College of William and Mary, and Thomas E. Boothby, Pennsylvania State University.  A program celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Associated General Contractors was presented along with several tours.  Sponsors

10th ANNIVERSARY MEMBER'S MEETING / UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AT SEATTLE / JULY 2017

Construction History on the Frontier explored innovative construction history of the American west coast, particularly resource extraction economies, transportation networks and local urban growth.  The We Built Seattle panel discussion celebrated the firms who have contributed to the history of construction in the Northwest.  Tours to Boeing and local Seattle landmarks including the 1962 World's Fair site as well as several keynotes were offered. 5th BIENNIAL MEETING / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN / May 2016

Knowledge Exchange and Building Technology Transfer. the dispersal and transfiguration of building ideas from old Europe to the New World, was the theme of the 5th Biennial.  In addition to eleven academic sessions, four tours were offered and three keynotes by Dr. Richard Cleary, Tom F.
